We are beginning to look ahead now to summer, which is a critical time for students to maintain and build on their academic skills and test prep skills for college admissions. At Amy Brooks Tutoring, we understand how easy it is for students to lose momentum during the break. Read below to find out how we can provide ongoing support, whether that be test prep coaching or academic tutoring. We are ready to help!

Summer ACT/SAT Test Prep

Did you know that students take the ACT or SAT an average of 3 times? Colleges don’t use the SAT or ACT because it’s perfect—they use it because it’s one of the only standardized tools that helps them compare students from completely different educational backgrounds. Creating a long-term, targeted plan to increase your student's score is vital. The SAT/ACT remains a key component of college admissions, and early preparation can make a significant difference.

ACT upcoming testing dates: June 13, July 11, September 19, October 17

SAT upcoming testing dates: May 2, June 6, August 22, September 12, October 3

PSAT school day testing window: October 1-30 (contact your school counselor for specifics)

Our test prep coaching is growing! We are excited to offer an SAT/PSAT Essentials Class at Covenant Christian Academy in Colleyville for their students in June and again in October!

Does your school or co-op need an SAT or ACT group class dedicated to your students? Would your student be interested in a small group class? Reach out to 817-846-0936 or amykbrookstutoring@gmail.com to see how we can customize a class!

Amy's curriculum and excellent tools for test prep sessions focus on:

  • Practicing official test material with timing to reduce surprises on exam day.

  • Mastering critical reading and grammar skills through targeted practice.

  • Building math confidence with step-by-step problem-solving techniques.

  • Developing test-taking strategies to manage time and stress effectively.

Contact Amy to take a free diagnostic exam and consultation to decide which test is best for your student. Let's use this summer wisely and set your student up for success! Approach the fall semester with all tools in hand to raise scores - our students regularly raise their scores 200+ points on the SAT and 4+ points on the ACT. Our methods get results - is your student ready to put in the work this summer? Let's get started!

Avoid the Summer Slide

Summer is the perfect time to create a tutoring schedule that fits your family’s needs. It is often the one time in a student's year when it is possible to close major gaps or get ahead academically, because they can focus more deeply on targeted skills. This is true for test prep and classroom content. Let our team help you develop a plan that balances reviewing, previewing, or study skills development without overwhelming them. Here are some ways we can assist you in setting up a successful summer tutoring routine:

  • Set clear goals for what you want to achieve by the end of summer.

  • Schedule regular sessions to maintain consistency.

  • Communicate openly about progress and challenges.

This summer, our team has multiple sessions available from 10 am to 8 pm at the Colleyville Library on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We also offer online sessions. How can we partner with you to make this next school year start a STRONG one for your student? Reach out via text at 817-846-0936 or email amykbrookstutoring@gmail.com.

Reserve Your Fall Session Slots -- Upcoming Changes

The slots for our school year sessions fill up quickly! By reserving your fall sessions early, you can secure the times that best suit your family's schedule. Our four tutors are already booking slots for the fall, so we urge parents and students to reserve their spots promptly. We look forward to serving your family on your educational journey.
